Anything by Roald Dahl/ Jim Aylesworth has great retellings of classic childrens tales: The Gingerbread Man Goldilocks and the Three Bears/ I'll Love you Forever/Beverly Cleary books/Boxcar Children/Indian in the Cupboard/I wanna Iguana/I love you Stinkyface/I love you through and through/ I could go on, but I'll stop there.

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs (and NOT just because the movie is coming out, always been a favorite)
